EMFs stands for electromagnetic fields, which are invisible waves of non-ionizing radiation that move throughout the environment. EMFs come from both natural and human-made sources. The human body naturally produces a very small amount of EMFs based on its electrical nature. The Earth also produces naturally occurring EMFs based on its magnetic pull. These naturally occurring EMFs differ from human-made EMFs based on the fluidity and non-polar nature of the EMF waveforms. This means naturally occurring EMF waves move in all directions and cancel each other out (destructive interference), thereby neutralizing any negative effects. The concern with EMFs arises from the human-made highly polarized EMFs that move in a single plane/direction and amplify the other's power, thereby increasing the intensity of the radiation (constructive interference).
Human-made EMFs can be thought of as more powerful than naturally occurring EMFs. Such EMFs are given off by cell towers, 5G antennas, cellphones, bluetooth devices, wifi routers, electric cars, appliances, televisions, computers, etc. The amount of EMF exposure since the early 1900's has increased by more than a billion-fold. The longterm ramifications of daily exposure to such levels remains unknown; however, many studies have identified concerning health outcomes from artificial EMF exposure. In 2011, the World Health Organization classified human-made non-ionizing EMFs as a Class 2B possible carcinogen. This was well before the rollout of 5G and further expansion of wireless devices.
The research regarding EMFs is relatively new, as there is only twenty years of data; however, the results cannot go without concern. EMFs have been associated with imbalances in all organ systems and possibly cancer. Exposure to human-made EMFs increases inflammation, cell permeability, immune dysfunction, mitochondria dysfunction, increased mast cell activation, and abnormal activation of cellular channels. Commonly reported side effects of artificial EMF exposure include, but are not limited to, fatigue, headaches, sleep disturbances, depression, anxiety, racing heart, dizziness, brain fog, skin eruptions, nausea, etc.
Turn Phones On Air Plane Mode
Decrease the amount of EMFs being emitted from devices by turning phones to airplane mode when not in use.
Computer Laptop Trays
Convert a portable food tray into a sitting desk area that will decrease direct contact with computers and tablets.
Speaker Phone
Avoid holding cell phones to your head when talking on the phone and use the speaker phone option instead. This reduces the amount of radiation the brain is exposed to.
Keep Devices Out of Sleeping Areas
Reduce EMF sources in bedrooms by leaving electronic devices to charge on airplane mode in rooms outside of sleeping areas.
Headphone Swap
Choose headphones with cord connections over blue tooth headphones to reduce the brain's exposure to EMFs.
Limit Screen Time
Engage in other activities / hobbies to reduce EMF exposure directly. Encourage children to play outdoors, read books, exercise, paint, play games, etc.
Turn Off Wifi Routers At Night
Chronic blue light and EMF exposure have been linked to sleep disruption and altered production of melatonin (one of the main hormones essential for sleep).
Hardwired Internet
Swap wifi for direct connectivity via hardwired cables (Ethernet) to decrease EMF levels throughout the home.
Proximity to Wifi Router
Keep your distance from wifi routers by relocating wifi routers to a space in the home away from most daily activities. Aim for a keeping a minimum of 15-20 feet distance away from wifi routers.
Smart Meter Removal
Request for smart meters to be removed from the outside of homes. The calculated effect of close proximity to smart meters has been correlated with the cumulative exposure to 160 cellphones.
